the institution of marriage as it is has many shortcomings.
it provides an easy or sometimes even casual entry. yet when what was once appealing becomes appalling, sweet engagement has turned into best designed entrapment with no easy way out. exit is often messy and lengthy, costing both parties dearly emotionally or financially.
people rarely consider that aspect before getting married. if it's pointed out to them, they'd not listen. they somehow naively believe they'll live happily ever after, totally ignoring the high divorce rate.
some say marriage is like this and others say it's like that. too many part-time experts but not enough qualified PRE-marriage counslors or advisors. or are there any of them at all?
seeking counseling after marriage is like beginners learning how to swim after they've already jumped into the lake. tough luck.
