最成功的英倫新浪漫樂隊，也是英國史上最靚仔有型
的樂隊。他們的歌曲在商業及藝術上均可兼及，加上前衛的衣著、髮型、俊朗外表和超大型製作的MTV配合下，其氣勢在英國本土及全球均一時無兩。當年他們的一舉一動均是全球Fans的焦點所在，特別是最型格的John Taylor(外表十足英格蘭超聯球星碧咸，但Beckham屬剛，而John Taylor屬柔)，其愛情生活均是英國小報的頭條，可想而知其受歡迎程度。

音樂方面，Nick一向是樂隊靈魂，其出色的作曲和電子合成器運用，製作出一首又一首精彩作品。MTV製作也是樂隊成功的因素，為了配合大碟Rio的一系列在尼泊爾拍攝的MTV和為大碟Seven and the Ragged Tiger的一系列科幻及高成本MTV製作令
人留下極深刻印象，甚至連今時今日也難看到那麼高水準的MTV製作。


最受歡迎的時期，曾演唱1985年007電影(A View to a Kill)主題曲，又參與Band Aid的演出。之後John、Andy和Tony Thompson、Robert Palmer組成即興樂隊Power Station及後Simon、Nick、Roger又組成Arcadia均受歡迎。前者玩美
式搖滾，後者繼續玩Duran Duran風格，推出So Red the Rose，可說是Duran Duran音樂和藝術上最出色的大碟。


私生活方面，他們可說是相當乾淨，毒品和女人都與他們沾不上關係，而且婚後便立即「收心養性」，專心鑽研音樂，這些都是他們受歡迎的原因。


顛峰過後樂隊受歡迎程度便開始下滑了，Roger因
受不了繁忙的演唱會生涯而離隊，和愛妻在鄉村過其寧靜生活。Andy幫樂隊製作1986年最後一張大碟Notorious後也離隊，後來再補上二位新成員。可能因為當時新浪漫已到尾聲，而且樂隊自Notorious開始，樂風漸趨向美式，所以銷路和排行榜上都強差人意，雖然後來曾出過大熱作品Ordinary World，但和以前光輝歲月相比，相去甚遠了。


1998年John離隊作個人單飛，成績也只是不過不失。前陣子，John到台灣宣傳其新的個人大碟 ，看見其外表，真要慨嘆歲月不留人，不過仍不失是個永遠的美男子。

目前樂隊只剩下三人，Nick, Simon和Warren Cuccurullo，雖然Duran Duran已經越來越被人遺忘了，但他們在八十年代的世界流行樂壇上曾經是英國人的驕傲呢。
