傳說，若來到這裡，                         I wonder why I am so weary

毫無來由地                                         What’s making me so depressed?

憂鬱即沁入心底                                  It must be the tale old and dreary

黃昏，逼近萊茵河面                          That’s’ keeping my mind quite obsessed.

夕陽，燃燒山的盡頭                          The air is cool, night is sinking.

一個少女                                              And quietly’s flowing the Rhine.

在岩上，                                               The tops of the mountains are blinking.
用金黃的梳子                                      In purple-red sun-setting shine.

一邊梳髮                                          

一邊歌唱                                              There’s sitting high up in the light.

歌聲裡                                                  A maiden so beautiful, fair.

彷彿具有奪人心魂的魔力                  Her jewels are glistening bright.

船夫                                                      She combs her gold shimmering hair.

忘了操槳                                          

看不見暗礁                                           Her comb is of most precious gold.

只忘神的注視少女                               She’s combing and singing so sweet.

                                                               Bewitching young fishers and old.

終於                                                       Their hearts start to quiver and beat.

船翻人溺

葬身波濤裡                                            There’s a man in his boat on the river.

啊!洛麗萊                                               He cannot but listen and share.
